Spurs won the 1921 FA Cup final with a 1-0 victory over Wolves, in a final which took place at Stamford Bridge. The hopes of the whole of Wales rested on the shoulders of Cardiff City when they met Sheffield United in the 1925 FA Cup final. Led by their outstanding Irish inside forward Billy Gillespie, Sheffield United ran out 1-0 winners. Cardiff won the FA Cup of 1927 two years later as they beat Arsenal 1-0.
