Francis Lee
FA Cup status – Winner (Manchester City) 1969

Lee was a key figure in the Manchester City side that was built by Joe Mercer in the late 60’s. No defender could rest when they had to mark Francis Lee. In his debut season at Manchester City, he grabbed 16 goals in 31 league matches as City won the league. Lee played alongside legends like Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee and Neil Young. Lee’s blend of speed, skill and impundence bore full fruit. He was part of the Manchester City side that defeated Leicester in the FA Cup final of 1969 and he returned with them a year later back to Wembley to win the league cup final. Lee left Manchester City in 1974 to join Derby County for £110,000. The fresh challenge motivated him to his exuberant best and helped the Rams win the league, before he decided to hang up his boots in May 1976.

Roger Hunt
FA Cup Status – Winner (Liverpool) 1965

Hunt joined Liverpool aged 21 and made his debut in the 1959-1960 season. Hunt should let his career figures speak for themselves. He scored 245 goals for Liverpool and despite the galaxy of legends that have played at Anfield; none matched the 41 league goals he netted during the 1961-62 season. Hunt was a key member of the Liverpool team which won the FA Cup in 1965.

 

Mike England
FA Cup Status – Winner (Tottenham Hotspur) 1967

Mike England was a single minded, ambitious player who ended up carving out a long and successful career at White Hart Lane. He was part of a side which also featured Alan Gilzean and Jimmy Greaves The first of his 300 league matches for Tottenham was against Leeds in August 1966. He also made 134 other senior appearances for Tottenham. At the end of his debut season at the club, he helped Spurs win the FA Cup against Chelsea. In total, Mike England spent over nine years playing for Spurs.
